Overview

The UBC SharePoint Software as a Service (SaaS) is a web-based communication and collaboration platform. The SharePoint Service is hosted on an on-premise infrastructure managed by UBC IT.


Features & Benefits

  • Design and build a UBC branded intranet site
  • Securely store and share documents
  • Collaborate on documents with co-authoring and version control
  • Integrate with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook and MS Project
  • Restrict access to VPN only or open access with VPN-less (users will still need to log in)
  • EAD accounts are required to access SharePoint.  External user access is available through sponsored accounts
  • Information stored on SharePoint are backed up with restore capabilities

Costs

  • $100 per month for hosting
  • $1.50/GB/year for additional storage with a minimum increment of 50GB

Site hosting fees include support and maintenance for:

  • Basic technical support to address issues, troubleshoot problems, and provide guidance
  • Regular system maintenance activities such as updates, patches and backups
  • Monitoring and performance tuning to ensure optimal system health and performance

Professional Services are offered at a billable rate for services beyond the scope of support and maintenance.  Examples of our offered professional services include:

  • Site branding and UI/UX customization
  • Tailor made automation and workflows
  • Custom development of views and dashboards for data visualizations and analysis
  • Requests for changes/updates/enhancements to an existing site
